Closing conference of the project "RailGate - Narrow Gauge Railways as Attractions and Gates to Nature", which aims to preserve, restore and develop this specific cultural heritage
The DŽK civic association in cooperation with its partner ÉSZAKERDŐ are implementing the international project “RailGate - Narrow Gauge Railways as Attractions and Gates to Nature”. The main objective of the project is to preserve, restore and develop the specific cultural heritage of historic narrow-gauge railways and to increase their attractiveness for visitors.
Thanks to this project in Košice, we managed to complete the building of the entrance station, to restore the operation of the shunt Vpred, to repair the historic locomotive and to exhibit other called "Miskolc" and to create an audio guide application. In Miskolc, the station at Dorottya street was reconstructed, a replica of the historic carriage "Kassa" was restored, a promotional film was created and a trilingual publication was published. Both partners worked together to prepare a master plan for both narrow gauge railways.
