The main object of the cooperation is to improve the quality and conditions of the daily bus transport between the two towns Komárom (HU) and Komárno (SK). Part of the project is the acquisition of a modern, environmental friendly electric bus with modern information displays on board. The bus stations and bus stops will be modernized. The bus stops will be equipped with a smart information display to show information about the bus timetables and the exact location of buses. A mobile application will be developed for passengers to help with the orientation, which will show the exact location of the bus, and provide other useful information. The aim of the project: -Development of smart cross-border transport system, passenger information system, online timetables, electric ticket system, mobile applications and common pricing criteria - Development of cross-border public transport services, - Infrastructure investments (bus stations, bus acquisition), - Investment for improved access to urban functions The project directly contributes to Specific objective 2.2.1 – Improving cross-border public transport services of the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary Cooperation Programme for the following reasons. The primary target group of the project are regular commuters of the border area. Secondary target group of the project are visitors living on the Hungarian or Slovak side of the border, tourists from neighbouring regions, tourists from Slovakia and Hungary and tourists from other countries. As the result of the project all target groups will be able to access an easy-to-use, health conscious and green type of transport.
