Increasing the attractiveness of Nógrád through the cooperation of Halič and Dornyai cultural-historical-tourist centers

The project is oriented to protect the cultural and historical heritage of Nógrád/ Novohrad region, in the villages of Halič and Erestvény (in the surrounding of Salgotarján). Main objective is the renovation of historical buildings and creation of memorial houses of artists T. K. Csontváry and J.Mustó. Through the project we will highlight the unique cultural and historical values of the cross-border region in lives of two artists who worked and left their marks here. Partners and involved experts will create the offer providing an attractive and authentic experience with added value for visitors. The project will include interactive acquisition of houses with expositions concerning the life and work of painters, in municipality of Halič also presentation of the history - pottery and pharmacy of T.K. Csontváry. The J. Mustó Memorial House, which will be hosted in renewed Dornayi Tourist House, will serve as a place for exhibitions of Slovak photography, painters, woodcarvers, folk craftsmen. Project will result in higher visibility of Csontváry's and Mustó´s life and work through the active partnerships of info points for visitors of municipality, as well as a place for organizing creative workshops and organizing various cultural events in cooperation with Dornyai House.
Through the project we will achieve:
-    protection of two cultural and historical buildings in Halič and Salgótarján,
-    creation of interactive expositions of 2 memorial houses in the spirit of Csontváry´s and Mustó´s time and work and recreating the dignity of the former "Dornyai House",
-    increased attractiveness of Nógrád/ Novohrad, wider range of offers for visitors in Eresztvény and Halič,
-    increased number of tourists through continuously updated offers, creation of interactive lectures, creative workshops in cooperation with educational institutions,
-    cooperation with other museums in Hungary and Slovakia with objective for rental of exhibition item.
