The Lower Ipel Valley is currently lacking adequate infrastructure and services for institutions of social and elderly care. Since the realization of such services does not make sense at unique settlements, the project RE-NEWAL aims at developing a proper cross-border network of supporting services in order to improve the functioning of institutions for social and eldercare. In the framework of the project, special attention will be given to the needs of institutions’ dealing with elderly generations. As a result, social kitchen, laundry service, personal mobility service will be launched. Cross border services provided will be available for all social
institutions in the Lower Ipel Valley. The realization of shared services necessitates the procurement of the modern and energy saving equipment as well as elaboration of coordination mechanism of the services. Realized shared services will contribute to the smart usage and optimization of resources and are intended to foster the cooperation between the participating social institutes and municipalities.
