The number of patients that require rehabilitation after stroke is growing rapidly, with increasing costs and pressure on healthcare budgets. In an effort to improve efficiency due to limited one-on-one treatment time with patients, robotic devices are well-suited to assist in this area, while simultaneously collecting objective quantitative data. Introduction and purchase of robot-assisted treatment by the institutions involved in the project can enhance the rehabilitation process since limitations in resources frequently curtail the duration of intensity of care. Intelligent robotic devices provide more consistent and frequent training as well as accurately and reliably measure changes in performance compared with conventional therapy in stroke rehabilitation. As a main project output, the Batthyány Kázmér Szakkórház és Rendelőintézet (HU) would benefit from equipment improving upper limb motoric function and robotic system for overground gait and balance training. Fakultná nemocnica s poliklinikou in Nové Zámky (SK) would have an access to robotic device for effective verticalization and mobilization, and  a treadmill for gait training. These devices are based on a therapeutic software with specific programs to involve the patient and increase the efficiency of the therapy. The statistical data measured can serve as a valuable data information for further research activity. The 2 professional workshops and 2 symposiums will ensure the inter-regional cooperation between the institutions. The inter-regional cooperation of the affected institutions might expand to international knowledge transfer and exchange of best practices.
