We have become accustomed to the fact that teachers are the possessors of knowledge, and it is their job to pass on that knowledge. This is what universities focus on in the training of prospective teachers: to provide frontal knowledge transfer.
In order to enrich the teaching techniques, the project partners will develop tools for tackling the bullying in selected schools through a set of instruments:
3 Research studies conducted in two states (SK, HU), Training plan for the training of parents and teachers, Course curriculum for the trainers of teachers and parents, Handbook collecting the most relevant information on methods addressing bullying needed for parents and teachers, Training for teachers and parents, Theater education programme for students, Know-how study, Collection of good practices, Mentoring for teachers and parents, Social awareness raising campaign including social media campaign, TV spots and films.
The aim of the project is to provide support to educational institutions for the management and prevention of bullying. Within the framework of the project, first the needs of the three target groups will be assessed. Next, a set of methods and tools to deal with and prevent peer-to-peer aggression and bullying will be elaborated and provided for teachers. Since these tools and actions are most efficient if parents are also involved, we would also like the parents to get acquainted with these tools and methods. For the third target group, the students, a drama education session will be elaborated in order to raise their awareness of the negative effects of bullying and violence.
In cooperation with selected schools, we will expect the students to feel more secure, teachers to notice the first signs of bullying sooner and have effective tools to prevent bullying, parents to be more knowledgeable and become partners of teachers in solving difficult situations easier.
