Cross-border cooperation to revive forgotten partnership in Gombasek and Szilvásvárad

The target areas of the project are Gombasek and Szilvásvárad, places with great touristic potential and cultural heritage which are to be exploited. The two main partners of the project are united by common history that, unfortunately, has lately been forgotten. The specific objective of the project is the protection and promotion of cultural heritage in the concerned areas resulting in renovations of two historical sights, the Andrássy curia in Gombasek and the Orbán house in Szilvásvárad. After the reconstruction, the buildings will serve as museums, which highlight the common history of the two places by the Bükk culture and the culture of iron-forging. To increase the number of visitors, it is inevitable to meet tourists´ expectations and offer services that make the location more attractive. For this reason, new accommodation and restaurant facilities will be created in cooperation with the entrepreneur partners of the project. They will all play very active role in cooperation. There will be a café and an apartment house established in the administration builiding as a part of the Andrássy curia, that is also a building listed as cultural heritage. In Szilvásvárad, in close neighbourhood of the Orbán house museum, a yurt camp will be established by the entrepreneur. The two leading partners of the project plan to create common touristic vouchers, which strengthen the cross-border partnership and offer complex services for the visitors. By executing the mentioned activities, the main objective of the project will be achieved, resulting in the protection of the cultural heritage and the increase in visit rate through the revitalized, firm partnership.
